ABOUT SOUTH BEACH

Just a ferry ride away from Lower Manhattan, two of Staten Island’s sandiest neighborhoods, South Beach and Midland Beach, offer fun in the sun via a 2.5-mile boardwalk. In addition to plenty of room for sunbathing on the shoreline, the neighborhoods possess the Ocean Breeze fishing pier, one of the largest in the City, as well as a small beachside amusement park.

Living in SOUTH BEACH

Like many neighborhoods on Staten Island, South Beach has somewhat amorphous boundaries. It is generally said to stretch from Lily Pond Avenue on the northeast, to Lower New York Bay on the southeast. Quintard Street is the southwestern boundary; McClean and Major Avenues are the other major lines of demarcation.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
